Law Foundation of PEI

The mandate of the Law Foundation under the Legal Profession Act is to establish and maintain a fund and use the proceeds for the following purposes:
  • legal education, legal research or law reform
  • the editing and printing of decisions of the Supreme Court and Provincial Court of Prince Edward Island
  • the promotion of legal aid
  • aiding in the establishing, operating and maintaining of law libraries in Prince Edward Island

The Foundation is administered by a Board of Governors consisting of five members, four of whom are appointed by the Law Society and one who is appointed by the Minister of Justice. The members of the Board of Governors appointed in 2011-2012 are:

  • Shauna Sullivan Curley, Q.C., Attorney General Representative
